Read the team line
A team line normally combines runs and wickets lost, alongside overs. An illustrative 120/4 describes the batting side's total and losses. It is not the record of one bowler.
Read the bowler line
Bowling tables can show overs, maidens, runs conceded and wickets. Column order or compact notation can vary, so read the headings. A bowler's wickets are a contribution to the innings rather than a replacement for the team score.
Use consistent units
Overs use valid-ball notation, not ordinary decimals. Rates require the correct number of valid balls. Do not compare a batter's runs, a team's total and a bowler's conceded runs without identifying what each field represents.
